With years of experience working with horses with behavioural issues, I can help tackle any problem. With methods that are violence-free and based on the natural behaviour and psychology of the horse.
We go back to the root of the problem to lay a solid foundation. Then, we build on successes in smaller, easy to understand steps.
I work with problems such as, but not limited to:

Leading issues
Horse is pushy, nappy or breaks free when leading.

Feet handling issues
Difficult or dangerous when picking up feet. Kicks out, refuses to pick up and/or loses balance. Young horses that need to learn how to pick up feet. Difficult for farrier.

Fear of water
Horse is difficult to hose off. Scared of water jumps, puddles or crossing water on hacks.

Difficult to clip
Horse is scared of clippers. Or won’t stand still when being clipped or being clipped in certain areas.

Difficult for vet/physio/osteopath
Horse is scared of vets. Fear of needles, anticipation of pain or presents hostile behaviour when examined/treated.

Spookiness
Horse spooks easily at objects, animals or people.

Untouched or feral
Horse is completely untouched or untouchable. Scared or aggressive behaviour. Not able to put headcollar on. Also applies to rescue cases.

Catching issues
Horse is difficult to catch or approach. Horse avoids contact in field or stable.

Difficult to tack up
Horse won’t stand for tacking up, saddle and/or bridal. Girthy, headshaking, putting head up, bitey, kicking out.

General fear and anxiety
Horse is generally anxious or stressed. Difficulty coping with stimuli.

Dominant or aggressive behaviour
Horse is dangerous when handled. Kicking out, rearing, biting, charging people.

Foundation For Success when solving behavioural issues
I aim to address challenging behaviour in a way that sets horses up for success. This begins by breaking down problems into smaller, easy-to-understand steps. These steps are then used to build a solid foundation, using horse’s natural psychology to ease anxiety and help them feel comfortable and confident at every stage.
Once the horse is relaxed and happy with the basics, we continue building on that foundation, step by step, towards our goal. In doing so, we don’t just create horses that do what we ask—we create horses that are willing and happy to do so.
